We are committed to environmental welfare by protecting our natural resources and taking care of our environment through sustainable agriculture and production practices.
We take all steps necessary to ensure that we do not impact negatively on the environment and to decrease our carbon footprint measurement.
Reducing our Carbon Footprint
We’re the first dairy company in Africa to publish our carbon footprint on our milk bottles.
Our environmental welfare efforts to reduce our carbon footprint
include the following practices:
To recycle cleaning water (saving 120,000 litres a day) and the re-use of water wherever possible.
To minimise pollution by collecting and re-using cow manure as fertiliser on our farms – decreasing the need for chemical fertilisers.
To restore the natural biological balance in our agricultural soil.
To plan and implement multiple actions to reduce the carbon footprint of Fair Cape’s EcoFresh milk.
By ensuring that the products and packaging that are returned from the market are recycled in an environmentally-friendly manner.
Our carbon footprint was measured by the Global Carbon Exchange (the internationally recognised PAS 2050 method to ensure accuracy) and we aim to measure our footprint periodically in order to decrease it and restore the natural biological balance in our agricultural soil.View our Carbon Footprint Assessment
